David Finckel has served on the Cello Faculty at The Juilliard School since the 2012–13 academic year, building a select class of private students in addition to coaching a wide variety of chamber ensembles.
As an Artist-in-Residence at Stony Brook University, David Finckel established a course for Stony Brook students entitled “Being a Musician.” This six-installment series covers all of the bases on professionalism in the classical music industry. Lecture topics include “What is an Artist?”, “Learning”, “Performing”, “Relationships”, and “Working”.
